Sean Higgins
Sean has had a drive to improve the sound quality of anything within his earshot since his arms were long enough the reach the bass and treble knobs of the car radio.
A native of Marin County, California, Sean grew up in the video village of Industrial Light & Magic sets before being accepted to the USC School of Cinematic Arts where Sean started working professionally in live sound reinforcement, becoming the Audio Director of Bovard Auditorium and all on-campus performance venues. After graduating with a B.A. in Cinema Production and a minor in Music Recording, he quickly began work as a Re-recording mixer and Supervising Sound Editor at a Los Angeles post house. Within three years, he accumulated over 50 credits, primarily mixing narrative features, but also television, documentaries, and direct-to-web content.
Sean excels in collaborative environments where sound is valued throughout the production process from script to final mix, where he helps create a soundtrack integral to the story. As such, he has been thankful to call Breakwater Studios home in an otherwise hectic freelance sound life. He began working with Ben Proudfoot long before the formation of Breakwater Studios, and is very involved in the company, consulting and overseeing all things sonic at Breakwater whenever and wherever possible.
