Norm Bolen
Norm Bolen is a media consultant specializing in television, online broadcasting, and content production. He is the past President and CEO of the Canadian Media Production Association and spent 21 years at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation; at different points serving as Regional Director for Ontario and the head of Network Television Current Affairs. Amongst his many duties was responsibility for the CBC’s Documentary Department. Additionally, Norm is the former Executive Vice President, Content, for Alliance Atlantis Communications, where he had overall programming responsibility for thirteen Canadian specialty networks, their web based and emerging new media content, and all Broadcast Operations.
Norm has served as Chair of the Banff World Media Festival, Co-chair of the Hot Docs International Documentary Festival, and Director of mDialog, a web-based video advertising application that was acquired by Google.
Formerly, he served as the Board Chair of the National Screen Institute as well as Board Vice-chair of ACTRA Fraternal Benefit Society and member of the investment committee. Beyond the above, Norm’s leadership roles and involvement in television, online broadcasting, and content production are numerous and exceptional.
