Originally from Chiapas, Mexico, Jorge Sida-Valdez discovered his passion for filmmaking at an early age, creating his first show with hand-drawn animations on Microsoft Paint before transitioning to live action. After moving to the suburbs of Chicago, he began filming and editing homemade videos, a pursuit that led him to earn a B.A. in Cinema Production and Studies from Southern Illinois University.

While at SIU, Jorge worked as a videographer and photojournalist, directed his award-winning short film A Cappuccino, Two Sugars, and contributed to the university’s documentary Under the Shadow during the 2017 solar eclipse. Following an internship at the American Film Institute, which deepened his love for Hollywood, he permanently moved to Los Angeles in 2018, where he has since worked on TV shows and feature films with The Walt Disney Company, Marvel Studios, Netflix, and Paramount.

In 2025, Jorge joined the Breakwater family, bringing a deep appreciation for human-centered storytelling and a commitment to supporting projects that resonate with audiences.
